I'm trying to create a library pattern (in the Pattern Editor) that can be used for two different LED display cases. A combination of the pattern for an LTC-4724JR three digit 7-segment display AND a pattern for three individual FND537 7-segment displays.

To do this, I need to connect the two using signal traces. I tried using lines drawn on the "Signal" layer, but the problem is, when I use this pattern in the PCB Layout app, it generates a bunch of overlap errors (at least I think that's what they are) -- see attached screenshots.

Is there a way to do this so the pattern is error free in PCB Layout?

Not to my knowledge. For what it's worth, I made a request for a special pattern trace feature a while back that would solve this problem, but so far nothing has come of it. Here's the link - http://www.diptrace.com/forum/viewtopic.php?f=8&t=11095
