Component Library Files: a future-proofing step?

In every Component Library file, in the pattern section for every Component, automatically insert the library path of the pattern used and a Date/Time stamp indicating the last time that pattern's library file was modified. This could help pave the way for the automated updating of Component patterns in future versions of DipTrace. I'm no programmer, but perhaps something similar to that shown in the example below might be added to every Component Library file - for each and every Component in those files...

...(Pattern "RES_0805"
____(PatternLibraryPath "C:\data\DipTrace\Libraries\Patterns\Resistor_SMD")
____(PatternLibraryVersion "11/16/2015,17:53:21"...

What do you all think? One small step at a time for every minor DipTrace revision?

I like the idea Tom. Good thinking. Obviously it will be up to the software developers. Hopefully it can be implemented without too much work for the software writers.

Hey Tom,

I think it is a good idea, and it will at least save some of my time to manually do that.
