I read and watched some tutorials about making my own patterns, and in one of them the guy said not to let the pattern (the green box) sit over a trace because this would prevent the copper from flowing there.

But I thought that the pattern was on a silk screen above the copper traces, so there should be no conflict.

I am doing my first pattern and would like to make it large enough that I can still see it after I mount the relay on the board.
So it will be over some traces.

Will this be a problem ?

You shouldn't allow silk screen to go over a PAD because it will interfere with soldering. Over any other copper feature doesn't matter. If you turn it on, the PCB design rule check will catch silk over pads.

My board house will actually clip silk over pads if I ask them to, but I'm careful not to put it there in the first place.
