Regarding the "Origin" of a board layout, what is the accepted normal place? ie; Top-Left, Bottom-Left, Top-Right, Bottom-Right.

I do understand you can arbitrarily place it anywhere, any spot, I'm just wondering what the "normal" (industry standard) origin placement is.

I place origin in lower left corner of boards. All objects have positive coordinates this way.

1. Origin Question... Lets say I open PCB Layout and I am displaying Titles and Sheet..
2. Then I set my Origin to the Lower Left corner of the Titles and Sheet Outline.. so everything I draw within the sheet boundry is a positive number.
3. Then I import a DXF..My dxf file has its own origin prior to importing. After importing... the dxf data is shifted or references some default PCB Layout origin... not the new orgin I set in step 2.
4. How do you sync a newly appointed PCB Layout Orgin to Origin of a imported DXF?

Origin and PC board can be moved where you want. Titles and Sheet can't.
Calculate difference between PCB origin and DXF origin. Move PCB and shift PCB origin if necessary. Then import a DXF file. After that, shift origin again.

Am having trouble understanding he "Origin" change in PCB.. If I leave the PCB Origin in its Default position and Import a DXF, the DXF and PCB Origin are aligned (same (0,0)).

If I move the PCB Origin from its default position and then import a DXF... the Origins are not aligned. The DXF Import is aligned with the (0,0) of PCB Default.

One would think if PCB Origin was changed from Default position that the Imported DXF would reference that new (0,0) not the default (0,0).

Calculating the difference and offsetting dxf import is unappealing and not consistent with lets say Gerber Export where you can input an offset.
