hi

I'm new to DipTrace having used Protel 99SE and newer a lot at my last job. I spent a few weeks learning Eagle but hated it - DipTrace is soooo much easier to use! I'm using a trial license at the moment but will be buying one soon.

I want to keep some extra info in my PCB design for things like label/cutout locations in the enclosure but I cannot see how to. In Protel it was easy to add extra mechanical layers - they could not be routed on but could be used to put other info on.

Is it possible to do the same in DipTrace? I can only seem to add routing layers.

Thanks
Peter

There are some standard non-routing layers in DipTrace. You can choose one from drop-down box on drawing panel. For example, if you want to create board cutout, select "board cutout" layer, if you want to add notes, select "Top Assy" or "Bottom Assy" layer.
Custom mechanical layers are currently not supported, but this is in our plans.
