Via Styles & Colors Storage Scope

#1 Post by amshh » 14 Apr 2017, 06:35

Hello

two questions regarding the "using scope" of

Via Styles:
I've created Via styles in one project. When I open another project I expected
to have access to my collection of Via Styles. But I haven't, the list is empty.
Why. Aren't they stored "globally" to be used by all DT projects? Or is there
a step I missed?

Colors:
Once again it happened at installing 3.1 Beta. The Layer colors and the Object
Colors (View > Colors...) have changed unintendedly and I have to manually change
them back to my needs. Had this before serveral times. Again:
Aren't they stored "globally" to be used......

Appreciate any hints!
Regards
Andree

Via styles are stored in board files. They are not stored globally.
Signal layer colors are stored in board file as well. Other colors are saved globally.

Hello Alex,

is there a chance to export these settings and import them at a different
project? Or is there a file I can copy?

Regards
A.

You can use "Route->Save Rules" to save rules from existing design to a file and "Route->Load Rules" to apply the rules in new design.
