Hi Guys,

I used to have a Dell Precision M6600 laptop and it was able to rotate parts in the 3d Preview smoothly and quickly.

I now have a Dell Precision 7710 and its very slow and jerky. About what you'd expect if I were trying this on a 15 year old computer with built in video card. Except this 7710 is a very fast computer, 64gb of RAM, 2gb of video, Core i7 processor etc...

What am I doing wrong here? Is there any setting in DipTrace that can be configured for video. (yes, I've already turned everything up to maximum performance in the switchable graphics on the laptop)

Thanks!

Please try to update drives for videocard. Try different graphics modes (View->Graphics Mode) in PCB Layout. If nothing helps please let me know.

Hi Alex,

I can confirm that I have the same problem. I am using an workstation grade laptop [Lenovo P50] with all the latest drivers installed.

When the graphics mode is set on Open GL the 3D rendering works just fine, but when switched to Direct 3D or Windows GDI it becomes really slow.

I vaguely remember that it worked a few months back when I was using windows 7.

How can I fix this issue?

Hi Ionel,
What operation system and videocard are in your laptop?

Hi Encoad,
Have you tried to update video driver or change graphics mode? Do you still have the problem?

Dell's web site doesn't show your combo, they have a different mother board in the units with Nvida cards and those motherboards use P530 based support. They also have Xeon processors, not i7.

Regardless, launch your Nvidia Control panel and verify the Nvidia is in fact being used and has the latest drivers that are Certified for Windows 10 R 1607
FYI the M4000M is sweet, a real desktop with the M4000 is sweeter.

Same problem. 3D view is very slow in Direct3D mode on Windows 10. Everything was fine on Windows 7. I've got a PC with GTX660 (latest NVidia driver installed) and a laptop with HD4000, both exhibit the same problem.
