How do you draw off-board connections to components? I have a schematic with maybe 10 components that will not be part of the overall board, so that when I "make PCB" these components should not be on the board. (they are IR TX and RX pairs) I want to DRAW them on the same schematic, but NOT be part of the PCB. I've uploaded my schematic for your suggestions. The parts in question are at lower right with the net connections on them (I thought that would work but it gives me an error).

I'm so used to hand plotting that I never did learn proper technique.

You can delete attached patterns in components that should be outside of board. You will get warnings every time you covert schematic to PCB or compare board with schematic but you can ignore these warnings.
