Hi

I'd like to sort the components library, top pane, alphabetically. I noticed in Library Settings, the Sort checkbox is grayed out.

How can i do this?

You cannot sort the libraries supplied by DipTrace, but you can sort your own User libraries. If you don't have your own libraries, and you are satisfied using the libraries supplied with DipTrace, try copying all of them into the User library group and sort them there.

Thx!

Any reason I cannot copy diptrace libraries as you described, AND add my own components?

No reason at all. Go for it.

p.s. In case you are unaware, if/when DipTrace is re-installed due to new versions, the libraries will be overwritten. It is good practice to store your custom libraries in another location.

Great. To be clear, it's the categories I want to sort, not the items. Copying will allow that?

Thx!

Here's how to get what you want...

To begin, in the main menu select Library, then Library Setup...

1) Select User Components.
2) Select Add Library and choose the libraries you want placed into the User Components group from the pop-up Open dialog window. (More than one library at a time can be selected.)
3) Deselect (no check mark) Sort Libraries by Name. If you want the libraries sorted automatically, activate this option. The automatic sorting will not change anything in the Library Setup dialog window, but it will change the order shown in the Library Manager's group window after selecting OK.
4) For manual sorting, select one library at a time to move and then use the up/down arrows to reposition it. Repeat for other libraries as desired.
5) This is an example of the Zilog library being moved from the bottom to near the top of the list.
6) Select OK.

p.s. The Library Setup dialog window does not physically relocate any library files; it customizes the library index displayed in the Library Manager's group window.

You do not have the required permissions to view the files attached to this post.

Choose Start ->Edit ->Sort in the ->Material list screen. The system displays a pop-up containing all the possible sort criteria. You can choose a criterion and click on Copy . Now select Close to close the window. In the remaining pop-up, click on Copy to have the system sort according to your chosen criterion.Once the system has finished sorting the components, you return to the Material list screen, which now lists the items sorted according to your selected criterion.
