Hi,

Is there a way to control where Diptrace puts its output files?
I find that they are being put into my "Documents" documents directory.

It would be nice if there was a way (Is there?) to create a user controlled directory for each
project that is worked on. I would not even mind if I had to create the directory first and then point Diptrace to it. It is just so annoying to have files being placed where I do not want them.

I looked in the drop down directories for a way to set the where to output files go but either there is not a way to do this or I missed it.

If anyone knows how to do this I would appreciate it if they could point my in the correct direction.

Dave

Output files. You mean .dch and .dip files?
Sorry to ask, but .... did you ever tried the menu item "Files >>> Save as" and
take a directory of your choice to store these files?
Regards
A.

Are the output files you're referring to the Gerber exports from PCB Layout? You can select which directory the files are saved to in the file dialog that opens after you click the Export button in the Export Gerber dialog.

All the projects I work on have their own directory. Can you be more specific about the particular problem you're having?

DipTrace memorizes where you saved files of each type last time and offers to save new files to the same folders.

I figured this out, but it would be nice if diptrace had a projects option that would create/ store
all of the files for a given project in its own sub-directory. It would even be nicer if the program
also would create a sub-directory inside of the aforementioned projects directory for the gerber files.

Dave

+1 for Project directory with Gerber sub-directory.
