I recently stumbled over schematics done in Altium Designer, where there are comments in the schematics which are like small post-it stickers and can be collapsed/expanded.
In AD they are called "notes" and honestly I think this is a very nice feature which should not be very difficult to add in DipTrace.
I could even live without the collapsing/expanding if the existing text tool would be better, but as it's only line based, it's a pain in the rear to edit a multi-line text.
So a first step would be some kind of textfield that is resizable and movable, where you can write/edit your text with automatic line break etc.

Thank you for the request. We know multi-line text is necessary, we will add it in future.

Multitext field on components. To be displayed in parts/properties. Made available in reports.
Used to document why you've choosen certain parts and values. Very important for good engineering practice. Forget about sep.
documents for part level doc as IDs will get out of synch with your schematic/pcb, or you spend tremendous efforts to have them synched because you are forced by regulation or managment to build/keep a holistic reliable documentation.

Hello,

Thank you for proposal. It is a good idea.
By the way you can use the Additional Fields to place this text in component(Component Properties / Main / "..." button). It will be displayed in Markings (Component Properties / Markings). Besides that this text can be added in Bill of Materials.

Further to the request for better text fields, a lot of circuits have design detail recorded in the drawing, say as an extra sheet with design calculations, reasons for part choices and recording mandatory design decisions relating to safety especially.

Its a PITA to make a separate document, a far neater solution is to have a notes page in the schematic file.

I suspect anyone seeking CE compliance for something they designed would appreciate a feature like this.

regards
