Hello,
I have almost made my way through my first chip layout. I tried to follow the book(help file) the best I could but only using my (Solid State Relay) in place. Six(6) pin thru hole. I don't see or understand how to finish the chip and save it once all the pins are attached to the part(6 pin dip)...What am I missing. I've read that last part over and over.
1) Chip is done and attached to 6 pin Dip on/in 2 tabs.
2) How do I finish from here to save as a working part in my schematic
thanks again
Howard

Please amplify on what you mean on your "1) Chip is done and attached to 6 pin Dip on/in 2 tabs." What has been successfully done so far?
Do you mean you created a pattern in the pattern editor? Have you attached this pattern to something in the schematic? Did you make your own schematic symbol, or choose one from the included libraries? If you chose a pattern from the libraries, which did you choose? What is the opto isolator part you intend to use?

Re: Chip Design
Hello,
Lets start over so (I'm) clear on what I need to do. I needed a six pin dip part to layout my schematic.
Were should I start? Pattern Editor(page 85) or Component Editor(page 109)?
I started with Component Editor?

To make a component, you will eventually need a pattern. I would normally create the pattern first, but that is necessary.hmlittle59 wrote:Hello,

See the libraries I made for you in the other thread.
If you have a schematic part, you could just use the pattern rather than making a special component. I prefer to make the component. Components are in *.eli files. Patterns are in *.lib files.
