I'm sure this has come up before. i searched and got all kinds of questions, but no answers.

here goes.

I have an expresspcb file that I would like to convert to diptrace and or gerber.

Yes, I know express pcb will do that for $60.

Is there a cheap and easy way or am I going to have to redraw the project in Diptrace?

ExpressPCB would like to be your only PCB vendor, that is why their software is free, proprietary and closed. I did a quick online search and saw one result where $5 for ExpressPCB Gerbers was being mentioned. I didn't investigate further so I can't tell you if it is legitimate or even secure. I think it would be worth your while to just manually redraw your schematic and PCB in DipTrace. This will allow you to make easy edits, choose any PCB vendor you like, select any of several manufacturing output file types (Gerber RS-274X/Gerber X2/ODB++/etc.) and port your designs to/from a few other CAD tools if needed.

thanks, Tom,

I was looking for a cheap and quick way of making a pcb from a file I found off the 'net that was done in expresspcb. Yeah, I know they do what they do so you can't use their free software and then have someone else make the pcbs.

It's simple enough to draw out, but I was being lazy
