Prtice Increase??
When did the price increase on Diptrace from 895.00 to 1195.00?? I thought it was 895.00 when i started looking at the beta evaluation almost a month ago.
Re: Prtice Increase??
We changed prices starting from version 3.0.

Hello
is it possible to create a license for Highspeed where you charge the people for this module and not the people who doesn't need this? I am sure that at least 80% of the people using Diptrace don't need the Highspeed option, so the development of the DipTrace 3.0 went completly wrong way and for the most people don't bring any advantages. Except higher price and slower software.
Diptrace is a greate software and I hope it will stay so. (Dont loose your time on Autorouting fucntion, fix other issues)
Cheers

We already thought about that, but not as separate module: the possible solution is intermediate license between Extended and Full. Full is bought by companies not depending on $300 price increase, but we have lower sales of Extended with $100 price increase. So probably changing policy for Extended and Extended+ editions is the must - we will investigate all things within next month and probably do that, if you need that right now - we already have a solution in 3.0.0.1, so just contact us by email or private message of the forum.is it possible to create a license for Highspeed where you charge the people for this module and not the people who doesn't need this? The software is not slower: majority of complex algorithms were optimized and are faster now (try DRC or net connectivity check on the same board with 2.4 and 3.0). Copper pouring were a bit slower in 3.0 due to increased accuracy, but in 3.0.0.1 the speed issue has been also resolved (now it is 1.5x faster than 2.4 with better accuracy). Program start-up is a bit slower due to new protection, but we are now working hard with protection developer to resolve this.

Re: Price Increase??
Protection costs money and slows down the start-up. I recommend removing it and lowering the cost of your product.
Any protection will be broken and then you're stuck paying for something that doesn't work.
Far better to make the product better and more affordable then people aren't tempted to steal it.
The publishing industry did the same thing with books. The protection was easily by-passed so they wasted their time and money.
A lot of books now are unprotected and less expensive as a result. Generally protection schemes only benefit the company that sells the protection.

So-called anti-piracy protection is a waste of time and money; as said here, the only person who benefits is the company who makes it. I've already seen Diptrace 3.0 on the torrent sites, so all those licensing fees are wasted revenue and no matter what capital you throw at protection, some pimple-faced 16 year old using his mum's Pentium 4 desktop will bypass it and post a keygen and cracked dll on the web. And while increasing prices is a fact of life, it just pisses existing (and loyal) customers off; I for one will not upgrade to 3 because it has nothing I need; I couldn't care less about the new features as I don't use them (I don't even understand what they do) and while I know some will, software developers tread a fine line between losing customers to the competition through needless 'improvements' and just making 'better' software. Most people would just like to see simple, useful features added to make things easier, and from other threads it seems plenty have an opinion on what constitutes 'improvements'. Who cares if the copper pour is 1.5 times faster? I certainly don't; version 2.3 does everything I want it to and when I trialled version 3, I didn't see any practical difference in the way I use it, certainly not hundreds of dollars worth anyway. Just my 2 cents...

Re: Prtice Increase??
The price increase is related with adding new features.
The protection doesn't affect on price.

I agree with you. diptrace deserves every single penny they are charging fordavenz wrote:+1 for me.mgriebling wrote:Protection costs money and slows down the start-up. I recommend removing it and lowering the cost of your product.
