I imagine this has been asked, but I can't find the answers.
I use Orcad 16.6 now.
Does Diptrace import/convert schematics symbol libraries?
Does Diptrace import/convert PCB footprint libraries?
Does Diptrace import/convert schematics?
Does Diptrace import/convert PCB layouts?
It looks I could keep using Capture, as I think the netlists are compatible.
Thanks for any input!
Orcad Capture / PCB Designer
Re: Orcad Capture / PCB Designer
You can export schematics from OrCAD Capture to EDIF format. Then you can import EDIF files in DipTrace Schematic. After the import, you can save schematic components to new library.
DipTrace can import boards from old OrCAD Layout using MIN Interchange format. But import from new PCB Designer is not possible because it doesn't have ASCII format of board files.

Re: Orcad Capture / PCB Designer
Interesting. EDIF sound useful.
It seems to me that all EDA companies should make it a priority to offer import.
That's what keeps so many of us from switching.
Good footprint libraries take years, and I can't see doing it all again.
