 Post subject: How to give a part a Pad Number in DipTrace schematic?

Dear DipTrace:
I am working with DipTrace schematic when I ran into a few problems trying to switch to board. I need to give my part a Pattern. So anyways I gave my part a New pattern but it needs a Pad Number. I have no idea what a pad is can you please help me?

A Pad is the point where the component pin is soldered to the board. The schematic symbol needs to match the signal pin to the pad on the pattern. Look at the component library for any similar device to see how it is done.

Remember to build your components first, then add them to the schematic.

I actually figured this problem on my own by myself. It turns out I just needed to take a break from my computer and I figured out that Pad Numbers is simply just another way of saying which pin connects to which pin from layout to schematic so thank you for responding.
