I have a basic library question.

I found a part that I want to use on my project on digikey.com. Unfortunately the part is not in the diptrace library. What I dont understand is that I cannot find a footprint or schematic view anywhere on the web. This just does not make sense.

My logic is:
- The manufacture built the part with the purpose to be used on a PCB
- Engineers use PCB software
- Therefore every designer that needs the part is going to need a schematic view and PCB view
- So where are the Eagle cad views?

What am I missing?

It would be nice if the manufacturer provided the library for their components, and some actually do, but most don't. There are many EDA softwares. That's why you have symbol and footprint editors to make your own parts. That's what every engineer does regularly and also if you make the library yourself then you know if it's correct or not, especially as sometimes the footprints have to be customized for your manufacturing process. Obviously the part manufacturer wouldn't be able to cater to everyone.
