Hi everyone, I've just downloaded and started working through the Diptrace tutorial. So far very impressed. Until now I've manually laid out 'small' pcbs using Autocad, taking a few days, and many coloured highlighter pens !
So, decided to evaluate DipTrace to speed things up a bit, and 'up-skill' myself in the process.
One question I have is, can I define what traces go on what layer in a multi layer pcb stack-up.

For instance, if i wanted to design an 8-layer pcb, made up of the following layers ...

________________Mounting Pads/Low Freq. Signals/SMT
________________Pwr.
________________Gnd.
________________High Freq. Signals
________________High Freq. Signals
________________Gnd.
________________Pwr.
________________Low Freq. Signals/Test Pads/SMT

...could I identify 'certain NETs' from the schematic, and define the layer I want the traces to be on, and still get the layout to Autoroute ?? This maybe in a later 'tutorial' but just wanted to know if this 'feature' is be available.
Thanking the 'forum experts' in advance, cheers.

Open "Route/ Net classes" from main menu and add new net class. Add some nets to it, then go to autorouting tab. Unselect "Use router settings" option and specify what layers are possible to use for this net class.
You may need to create some net classes before autorouting. Notice, net classes have been added in the beta version.
