Hello!

This is my first time posting in the forum but I have been using Diptrace for a a few now.
I mostly use it on Windows Virtual Machines as the Mac version is kind of buggy.

So I delete and make new virtual machines a lot.

I made some parts in the component and pattern editor, then linked them so pins would match on the schematic and the actual part on PCB layout.

Is there a way to take this parts I made to a new virtual machine with a fresh installation of Diptrace?
Can I just simply copy and paste to the folders needed?
Can I have some kind of shared library in an external drive for Diptrace in different Virtual machines?

Thanks in advance!!!

I use Dropbox for this reason. All of my custom libraries (as well as the standard Diptrace libraries, copied over from the DP install) are in a folder on Dropbox. From there I can access everything regardless of what machine I may be on at the time (work or home). Dropbox (the installed version, not browser) is installed as a local drive. Once you've created your VM and installed DP, point your settings to the Dropbox folder. Works like a charm...

Hello mtripoli, thanks for you answer!

I currently use dropbox for the files I work on, to keep em safe in any case the VM crashes or my computer gets stolen.

Just copied my Lib folder to Dropbox, and created a new group named id ComponentsDropbox and choose this one to be "Components and Parts" at the same time, then just selected it on the left pane where components are choosen from. It seem to be working fine!

Thanks again!

Regards!
