Hi there,

OK this might sound silly but when I export the PCB to a dxf file and then use ACE to convert it to G code I get a beautiful file to actually mill the tracks rather than the copper right next to it. I was looking at CNC usb motion controller and it faithfully manages to cnc the tracks from the G code supplied. Is this something that the CNC software should do or should I supply the Gcode in order to leave the tracks... in other words is this something that Diptrace and Ace are suppose to do or is this something that the CNC software should do? I would have thought it was something you give to your CNC software ready to go...

Looking forward to any replies on this.

Kind Regards

Simon

You should export edge layers to DXF - DipTrace automatically creates outlines and Ace Converter just converts them to G-code. For usual Top/Bottom layers DipTrace export traces and Ace Converter mills them. See tutorial for more help.
