Viewing 3D components

#1 Post by morbee » 28 Feb 2016, 01:11

Hi All,

I am not sure if this is the correct platform to ask this question, as i am new to both diptrace and the forum, but here goes.

My query is that i would like to view my PCB in 3D without the added components, in other words i just want to view a bare board with the traces. I dont seem to find how to do thi.

Thanks in advance.

Regards
Alex

1) Open the 3D viewer.
2) UNCHECK the box labeled 'Components'.
3) Click on 'Redraw'

BTW, if you're going to take a picture of it, you may want to temporarily set the board thickness to a smaller value to eliminate the distortion inside the thru-holes (if you have any) caused by the perspective view.

I feel like such an idiot, there it was right before my eyes. Thankyou to all those that have taken the time to reply to such an obvious answer. You all may call me a moron and no offence will be taken. :D
