I use Diptrace to lay out guitar pedals (amongs other things) and I often created double sided PCB's with components on both sides.
I would like an option to selectively 'erase' part of a components silkscreen pattern so that I can achieve a high component density and avoid silk over pads.
I'm thinking about a mouse driven eraser with selectable 'thickness'.
Is this viable?

Andy
Feature Request - Pattern Eraser
Re: Feature Request - Pattern Eraser
Not sure will this solve all problems but you can turn off component marking and you will not get message silk over pads.
And other way, slower, would be to edit component (using component and pattern editor) and by that way create custom library...
Hope this helps.

Thanks for the response but that won't really be practical.
I tend to move things about a bit so I really just need to be able to selectively erase just little bits of the silkscreen only where I place a component on the other side of the board and where a pad is over the bottom silk.

Re: Feature Request - Pattern Eraser
Eraser is not possible in DipTrace. But we plan to add a feature that will automatically cleanup silkscreen from pads before exporting Gerber files.

Alex,
That will be the perfect solution.
Many thanks

Was this feature ever added? Thank you for your time.
