Am playing with the 3d beta feature in Diptrace... Am creating .wrl or .3ds files.. Am using Alibre for 3d modeling then exporting .stl from Alibre... Importing .stl file into "MeshLAB" program...Editing in MeshLAB (like changing colors and such) then exporting as .wrl or .3ds from MeshLAB...

My issue is.. the color attributes do not come thru when using the newly created .wrl or .3ds files.

why not?

I imported a existing .wrl from diptrace std 3d library... colors come thru on those correctly.

Probably after exporting/importing in different programs via intermediate format colors setting are lost.
We use Wings for creation our standard 3D models, but you can use Blender as well. Why don't use these programs for making custom 3D models ?

I second the request for supporting Alibre. Alibre is my companies 3D software of choice and I would prefer not to have to buy, learn, and maintain additional 3D software.

We develop export of 3D view to STEP format. This is wide-used format in 3D world.

I wish diptrace would move away from wings, as it seems to be somewhat different than other 3d formats, especially with sizing and colors. I tried wings out, I think it is too unintuitive.
